Borrowing: BONUS+

Request books not held at UOW

Students and staff can borrow books not held at UOW from participating university libraries via our BONUS+ service.

  • Delivery times will vary depending on the source library.
  • Books should be returned to your home library or mailed if they have been posted to you.

How to place a request

  1. Search our catalogue.
  2. If your book is unavailable, click the green BONUS+ icon.
  3. Select the book you require. (Note: the titles listed may not be the exact titles you searched for, or there may be different editions to choose from.)
  4. Select Request This Item.
  5. Select "University of Wollongong", then Submit.
  6. Enter your family name and barcode number from your student/library card.
  7. Select your campus library as the pickup location.
  8. Click Submit.
  • A message will appear to tell you that your request was successful and which library it is coming from.
  • When your book arrives, you will receive an email via your UOW email.
  • You have one week to pick up your item and check it out on your record.
  • Off campus students will have their BONUS+ books checked out on their record and delivered to their nominated address.

Borrowing conditions

Domestic UOW undergraduate 5 21 days (1 renewal allowed if not overdue and no hold exists)
Domestic UOW postgraduate 10 21 days (1 renewal allowed if not overdue and no hold exists)
Domestic UOW staff 10 21 days (1 renewal allowed if not overdue and no hold exists)

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I check the progress of my request?
Log in to your library record and select your holds. Your loan will be displayed here. If it is ready for pick up, the status will say Ready. Must be picked up by...

Can I cancel my request if I change my mind?
You can only cancel your request if your library record is showing as Requested or Hold. If the books are In transit, the request cannot be cancelled.

Can I renew my BONUS+ loan?
You can only renew once, as long as your book is not overdue and no-one else has placed a hold on it. To renew a book, log in to your library record.

I've returned my BONUS+ book to my home library, why is it still showing on my record?
A BONUS+ book stays on your record until the book has arrived back at the library it was requested from.
