Borrowing: Off-campus

Eligible off-campus students can have material mailed to them from our Library collection or via our BONUS+ and Document Delivery services. Check your address details are up-to-date before using our services.

To be eligible for off-campus services, you must be:

  • living outside the (02 42) telephone area
  • enrolled in a masters degree or doing your PhD
  • enrolled in a course offered via: 
    • distance education
    • flexible delivery
    • modular mode
  • a Graduate Medicine Phase 2 Session 2/Phase 3 student
  • a clinical academic of the School of Medicine
All items are posted to you free of charge, but you must cover the return postage costs. 

How to place a request

  1. Search for the item in the Library catalogue.
  2. If you found it, click View in Catalogue/Place Hold.
  3. Click Hold.
  4. Enter your family name and the barcode number from your student/library card.
  5. Select the copy you wish to request (the pickup location should be Eligible Direct Delivery*).
  6. Click Submit and Log Out.

*If you cannot select Eligible Direct Delivery as your pickup location, please contact us!

The item will be checked out to you and mailed to your nominated address. You'll receive an email when it has been sent.

Borrowing periods for UOW Library items are determined by your user category.

  1. Search the Library's catalogue.
  2. Click the green BONUS+ icon.
  3. Select the book.
  4. Select Request This Item.
  5. Select "University of Wollongong", then Submit.
  6. Enter your details.
  7. Select your pickup location as Eligible Direct Delivery then Submit.
  8. Wait for an email notification when your book is checked out to you and dispatched.
BONUS+ loans are for three weeks with one possible renewal.

If you haven't used Document Delivery before...

You'll need to request an account.

Notification will be emailed a notification when the account is active and to confirm your nominated address.

If you are a Graduate Medicine Phase 2 or Phase 3 student, you'll be asked to provide a delivery address and a time period for your stay at this address.

If you have used Document Delivery...

Place your request as usual. The loan item will be automatically sent to your nominated address.

For Document Delivery items from other libraries, you'll be provided with a due date.
