Subject Readings: About Subject Readings

What are Subject Readings?

Subject Readings provide essential course materials for your subject, in one convenient place.

All Subject Readings observe Australian copyright law and can consist of book chapters, journal articles, websites, exam papers, streaming videos as well as the records of physical items available in Short Loans.

Access them from our homepage (under Resources) or via the My Library tab in Moodle.

Submitting a new request

Submit your Subject Readings using our online submission form.

Each subject is limited to 20 Short Loan items.

Make sure you include:

  • full bibliographic citation details OR provide your subject outline
  • any special instructions, including any readings you require removed

For Short Loans requests, also include:

  • call number
  • edition (if applicable)
  • other campus locations required (e.g. 1 x Shoalhaven, 1 x Moss Vale)

Subject Readings will be available for the start of session providing:

  • your request is received no later than 3 weeks before the start of the session
  • items are in the collection
  • items already on loan are returned on time
Subject Readings can be displayed by week and/or essential OR recommended readings. Advise us in your submission if you would like them displayed this way.

Viewing my Subject Readings submission

From the EQUELLA dashboard, click View your Current Reading submissions under Library Subject Reading Links

Do I have to resubmit the same list every year?

If your subject runs in the same session the following year, your subject readings will automatically be made available one month before session commencement.
