Embedding Indigenous Knowledge in your curriculum

The Review of Higher Education Access and Outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People (2012) details the importance of:

  • including Indigenous Knowledge in the curriculum
  • meeting the needs of Aboriginal students and communities
  • including Indigenous perspectives in research
  • increasing knowledge of contemporary issues that affect Aboriginal people.

Jindaola

The Jindaola program is a methodological approach to embedding Indigenous knowledge and perspectives into the UOW curriculum. It was developed by Learning, Teaching & Curriculum in consultation with local Elders and Knowledge Holders.
