How to borrow

Video Transcript

Once you've found the item you want to borrow, you can check it out at a self-loan machine or at the Service Desk, unless it's an online resource, like an ebook, where you view it online.

To use the self-loan machine:

  1. Swipe your student card
  2. Scan your items
  3. Press "Email Receipt" on the screen.

But wait! Here are some other things you need to know:

  • Borrowing receipts are sent to your UOW mail account with your loan details and due date.
  • You can renew your items as many times as you like, until it is recalled (then you'll have to bring it back!).
  • Return your books via the Library chute at the campus you borrowed from.
  • Check your borrowing record online to see your loans, place a hold or see outstanding fines.

See our Borrowing Conditions for all the details.
