Higher Degree Research Library Checklist: Strategic Publishing

Publishing strategically showcases your work and maximises your impact

I frequently read key journals in my area and know how to identify a relevant publication for my research.
Identify quality journals in your research area through databases such as Web of Science and Scopus. Also:
I can recognise how to avoid a potential predatory publisher.
Avoid being misled! Be wary of unsolicited emails or invitations to publish. A predatory publisher may resemble a legitimate publishing house, however, they may lack scholarly credibility or use unethical practices.

Before submitting a publication (journal, conference paper, book chapter):
I have an ORCiD iD and add it when submitting article manuscripts for publication.
ORCID provides you with a unique identifier and lets you link your publications to your name and get credit for your work.
  1. Register directly on the ORCID site.
  2. Add your ORCID ID when publishing to identify your work.
  3. Build an ORCID record that showcases your work.
I am aware of UOW systems to support scholarly publishing.
UOW is committed to sharing the research publications produced by the University. Advise us of your new publications.
