Open access publishing agreements
Open access publishing allows for readers around the world to access your findings without having to pay for the resource. Your publications will reach a wider audience including practitioners, policy makers, the broader public, and researchers from low and middle-income countries.
Open access publishing agreements allow you to publish your work and make it openly available to all without paying an article processing charge (APC) or book processing charge (BPC). There are a few different names for these agreements, including Read & Publish, Subscribe to Open and Direct to Open.

Read & Publish agreements
UOW Library participates in Read & Publish (R&P) agreements with selected publishers, through the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) consortium. These agreements allow UOW staff and students to both access the subscription content for research, and publish eligible articles open access in the included journals at no cost to the researcher.
Subscribe to Open agreements
UOW Library is supporting the Subscribe to Open (S2O) agreement with the publisher Annual Reviews, through the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) consortium.
When publishing, you may come across Subscribe to Open agreements that are not financially supported by UOW Library. Check the details of the agreement on the publisher's website to see if you are eligible to publish open access without paying an APC.
