Developing a search strategy

  1. Determine your search words using our Interactive Keywords Builder. This is a good place to start before you start looking for information.
  2. Narrow your search. Include words or phrases that describe the type of information you are looking for e.g. SWOT, report, statistics, "five forces".
  3. Include specific names (i.e. company name, product name, brand) to narrow your search.
  4. Use Industry classification codes as part of your search strategy when searching for industry information.
