You may wish to explore what else is freely available to you in terms of newspaper collections held by UOW and other accessible libraries.
UOW Library newspaper collections
UOW's Wollongong campus library and the University Archives hold a select range of older newspaper titles on microfilm or in hardcopy print. Check Library SEARCH for holdings details of individual titles. Please ask us if you need help with locating specific papers or using the microfilm equipment.
Local library newspaper collections
Check with staff at your closest local public library. Public libraries around NSW have onsite access to a range of newspaper databases via the NSW State Library's Public Library Services network.
In addition each individual public library will hold its own hardcopy collection of newspaper resources relating to its local region.
For example Wollongong City Library holds several local Illawarra and Sydney newspapers which are not available at UOW's Wollongong Campus library.
National and state library newspaper collections
Check out the large collections of Australian and overseas newspapers held by the State Library of New South Wales and the National Library of Australia. This includes many online and digitised titles. If you live within NSW you can join one or both these libraries as an individual member at no charge and have free remote access to selected newspaper databases.
