Library services for researchers - Researcher profiles

Researcher profiles

Researcher profiles are used to identify you and your research outputs. They typically group together information such as your name, affiliation, details of your publications, research interests, funding details or scholarly achievements.

Up-to-date researcher profiles can:

  • Increase the visibility and accessibility of your research outputs
  • Assist researchers, students, journalists, potential collaborators, and funding bodies to find you and your publications
  • Provide access to metrics and quality indicators to support applications for grants or promotion
  • Provide visual tools to showcase the impact of your research.

Researcher profile options

UOW Scholars contains our public facing researcher profiles, where you can showcase your academic achievements and research outputs, funding successes, teaching and supervision experience, and service and leadership activities. Elements is where you manage and update all aspects of your UOW Scholars profile.

ORCiD provides you with a unique ID, or persistent identifier, that distinguishes you from every other researcher. An ORCiD ID is a reliable, consistent way to link your research outputs, grants, peer review activities, patents and more.

There are also many author profile options, including Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar and Dimensions author profiles. It is important to select the profiles that are most strategic for you as you will need to ensure they remain up to date. This guide covers researcher and author profiles that will help make your research available to a wide-ranging audience and increase the discoverability of your work.
