Acknowledge GenAI use

If you have permission to use generative AI in your assessments or study, your use needs to be acknowledged. This may include keeping copies of your chat history, acknowledging you used it and referencing & citing the GenAI tool. Always check your subject outline and with your subject coordinator about appropriate use and acknowledgement. 

Why is acknowledging Generative AI important?

1. Academic Integrity: Upholding ethical standards is crucial in academic work. When using generative AI tools like Copilot, you must acknowledge their use to maintain academic integrity.
2. Avoiding Plagiarism: Just as you would cite a source when quoting or paraphrasing, acknowledge Copilot’s contributions in your work. Proper attribution ensures fairness and honesty. Refer to UOW's referencing guidelines for examples on how to cite Gen AI tools correctly.
