Information literacy in your subject

Information literacy refers to the ability to locate, manage and use information. In an academic context, students must become highly competent at finding material for their studies.

Consider the following:

  • Do your students use quality (academic/scholarly/peer-reviewed) journal articles and other quality information resources in their assessments?
  • Is this evident in their reference lists?
  • Do you require your students to use specialised Library databases or resources?

Contact a Liaison Librarian to discuss your students' needs and how to integrate information literacy into your subject.
